Men's Captain, Jason Harris, and Ladies' Captain, Margaret Evans, are champing at the bit waiting to start their year in office! See their note for you all below.
Meanwhile it has been announced that this year they will combine their charitable fund-raising efforts in aid of the Shropshire Blood Trust Fund which was set up by Consultant Haematologist Dr Nigel O’Connor to fund the opening and running of a specialist haematology service, which has been named after him. The O’Connor Haematology Day Unit is now part of the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
As for the golf let's hope normal service will be resumed as soon as possible!
A note from your new Captains:
First of all, we hope you are all keeping safe and well, both physically and mentally.
Obviously a slightly odd start to our years in office as Captains, but one which no doubt we will be dining out on for some time to come (when we are allowed to dine out of course!)..
We just wanted to say we are thinking of you all and we really can't wait to see you again down at the club very soon.
We have seen the images shared by Barny on the great work he and Joel have been doing on the course over the past few weeks and we hope this is keeping spirits high, it is certainly keeping us both excited for the time we can get back out and play again.
Finally just a word for our chosen charity for 2020. Given the delayed start to the year we are going to be working extra hard when we are back out aiming to raise valuable funds for the Shropshire Blood Trust, a charity close to both our hearts. Any support will be greatly received.
So to close, please all stay safe, follow the guidelines and we look forward to seeing you all again very soon.
Jason & Margaret
