Junior Evenings to restart on 6th April
Oswestry Golf Club junior section kicks off this Friday (6th April), with an introductory evening for new Junior Members and parents to come along, meet the organisers led by Judith Thornell, the club professional Richard Edwards and the new Junior Captain for 2018 Joe Edwards.
Then from the 13th the Junior evenings kick off in earnest, with the younger members, taking to the practice ground with head professional Richard Edwards for lessons and fun games, whilst the older Juniors, will start the 9 hole season. All Juniors are well looked after and encouraged to engage in club activities. Junior membership at Oswestry Golf Club allows the kids to learn the basics of the game, from playing the game, to the etiquette and sportsmanship associated with golf. They are also given numerous competitions to enter throughout the year and are helped to develop and integrate into the club where they can play in the Men’s and Ladies competitions and develop into fundamental members of the future of the club.
There is a full fixture list planned for the year and more details can be obtained from the club secretary John Evans or Junior Organiser Judith Thornell.
Newcomers can come along for 2 free sessions, to make sure they are comfortable, then they can either join as a member, with membership starting at just £50 for the year or can pay a £5 fee each week to take part in the coaching sessions, so a really flexible way of getting your kids into golf.
Sessions run from 530, please arrive by 445 latest.
